Being a Response Volunteer Advocate can be a very rewarding experience and a great way to give back to our community. Our volunteers help in a variety of ways, including answering the hotline at home, providing childcare while residents are in support groups, helping with activities, teaching a skill, assisting with fundraising or helping with community awareness events. We don't know what we'd do without our volunteers! If you would like to take our 6 hour or 32-hour volunteer training, please fill out an application and someone will contact you. Or if you have more questions, please call our office at 540-459-5599.
If you don't have the time to volunteeer, consider supporting Response through a monetary or in-kind donation. Our community is our greatest resource!
We always have a "wish list" of items needed for the shelter. Sometimes families come in with nothing but the clothes they have on and by helping us provide basic needs, you help Response provide our clients with the services they need to break free from violence and go on to lead healthy and productive lives. There are many ways that you can help! Call us for more information.
If you'd like to help on an ongoing basis, consider joining the 100 Women Club.
Response hosts two fundraisers annually. The Celebration of Hope in the fall, and the Spring Fashion Show & Tea in the spring. By attending one (or both!) of these events, you are supporting Response in fulfilling its mission. These events are crucial to our programs.
We also host awareness events like the Candlelight Walk and Denim Day, have a presence at business and health fairs and offer to speak to church groups and civic organizations. Your support through awareness and fundraisers is invaluable to us.
